Requirements

macOS on Apple Silicon (arm64) and a terminal. The binary declares a minimum of macOS 11.0; compatibility has not been tested. No separate Rust installation is required to use the prebuilt binary.

Quick start

Download the Boloop ZIP bundle for Mac Apple Silicon. First extract the ZIP and read the bundled notices, then extract its unchanged official tar.gz archive. Use hexyl from Terminal or place it in a directory on your PATH. Keep the notices with your copy. Follow normal macOS security prompts; do not disable system protection.

hexyl displays file contents as hexadecimal bytes, with color to distinguish common byte categories. It is useful for checking file headers and investigating unfamiliar data while debugging.

Best for: developers working with file formats, binary data, or low-level troubleshooting. It is a command-line viewer.

This download is a Boloop redistribution bundle for macOS Apple Silicon (arm64). It contains the unchanged official tar.gz archive plus license notices and provenance. Extract the ZIP first, then the inner tar.gz. The upstream release page provides separate Intel Mac, Windows, and Linux builds.

Review status: official source, release metadata, archive contents, binary architecture, and SHA-256 were checked. The program was not launched or functionally tested, and no malware scan or full security audit was performed.
