Requirements

macOS 11 or higher; Windows 10 or higher; Linux requires GTK 3 and WebKitGTK 4.1. Select the appropriate operating system and architecture on the official release page. Models, API services, or subscriptions may incur additional charges.

Quick start

  1. Visit the official release page and select the installation package for your platform.
  2. Follow the installer’s instructions to complete the installation.
  3. Before connecting a provider or importing a CC Switch configuration, check the settings and back up your existing configuration.
  4. If the model switch doesn’t take effect after switching, create a new Agent session or restart the Agent.

Why choose Magpie?

Magpie consolidates the configuration of models and providers for AI programming tools like Claude Code and Codex into a single desktop application. It officially supports importing CC Switch configurations, making it a strong candidate for migration, though it doesn’t fully replace all CC Switch functionality.

Key considerations before switching

Configuration schemes and a local gateway help manage requests, but API calls are still sent to the configured upstream provider, meaning inference isn’t entirely offline. You can disable subscription discovery in the privacy settings. Before migrating, check permissions and back up your existing configuration.

The software itself is free and open source, but upstream models or subscriptions may incur additional costs. Boloop provides an official release page link but doesn’t host or run installation packages.
